Weather or Not Dog Walkers is looking for dependable, compassionate animal lovers to join our professional dog walking team in the Greater Wilmington area.

​

Since 2016, we've built our business around providing reliable, personalized care for pets and peace of mind for their people. Our walkers are valued W-2 employees, not independent contractors, and they're supported by an experienced team that understands the importance of doing things right.

​

We're currently seeking part-time midday dog walkers available Monday through Friday, approximately 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM.

​

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys being active, working independently, and building relationships with the dogs they care for. We're looking for people who can make a consistent, year-round commitment to our team and our clients.

What We Offer

  • Starting pay of $17 per hour, including paid travel time between client visits.

  • W-2 employee status, not independent contractor work.

  • Part-time weekday hours: Work primarily Monday through Friday, between 10:30 AM and 2:30 PM, with schedules based on client needs.

While you'll spend much of your day working independently, you'll always be part of a team that's there to answer questions, provide guidance, and help when unexpected situations arise.

What You'll Do

​

As a professional dog walker with Weather or Not, you'll do more than provide exercise. You'll become a trusted part of each dog's routine, helping them stay happy, comfortable, and cared for while their people are away.

​

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing safe, attentive dog walks and pet care visits according to each client's instructions.

  • Building positive relationships with the dogs in your care and learning their individual personalities, routines, and needs.

  • Monitoring pets for changes in behavior, appetite, mobility, or general well-being and reporting concerns promptly.

  • Providing fresh water, meals, and other routine care as directed.

  • Sending visit updates, photos, and accurate reports through our pet care app.

  • Following company procedures for safety, home security, scheduling, and communication.

  • Traveling between client homes throughout your assigned service area.

  • Communicating promptly with our leadership team when questions or unexpected situations arise.

What We're Looking For

​

We're looking for responsible, compassionate people who understand that caring for someone's pet is a privilege and a responsibility.

​

Our ideal team members:

  • Have a genuine love for dogs and a commitment to their safety and well-being.

  • Are available Monday through Friday, approximately 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM, with consistent, year-round availability.

  • Are at least 18 years old

  • Have reliable transportation and are comfortable driving between client homes.

  • Have a smartphone and are comfortable using mobile apps for scheduling, communication, and visit reporting.

  • Enjoy being active and can comfortably walk dogs outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.

  • Are dependable, punctual, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.

  • Communicate professionally with clients and coworkers.

  • Are comfortable following detailed care instructions and established company procedures.

  • Are willing to complete a background check and required training.

Previous professional dog walking experience is welcome, but a willingness to learn, good judgment, and reliability are just as important.

​

A Few Things to Know

Dog walking is rewarding work, but it isn't always easy! You'll be outdoors in the heat, cold, and rain, managing different personalities and making sure every pet receives dependable care.

​

Our midday positions are part-time, with schedules based on client needs. While we ask for availability during our weekday service window, the number of scheduled hours may vary.

​

We're looking for people who want to become a dependable part of our team, not simply pick up an occasional walk when it's convenient.
